*Session#3* will be featuring two premiers, one world by *Aaron Cassidy *(“the
green is where”) and one Begian by* Zach Seely* (“Personal Gravity”), as
well as pieces by *John Cage* ("Freeman Etudes" - selection), *Dmitri
Kourliandski *(“prePositions”), *Helmut Lachenmann* ("Toccatina") and
*Salvatore
Sciarrino* ("Sei Capricci").


*|| How impossible is the “impossible”? “Temporality of the Impossible”,
focuses on two important and inseparable parts of music and performance:
the tangible and the abstract. While the former investigates challenges of
the extended violin techniques and playing, the latter investigates the
shaping of sensibility for understanding the music. Or rather, by
questioning what is this “impossible” it is questions is there space for
re-shaping of the understanding the “new” aesthetics, sensibility and
expressivity. Seeking out along the way whether and how do we grow into
understanding and appreciating this “new”, or rather the unconventional. ||*


*Performance+Talk Sessions* are part of Dejana’s research project *“Temporality
of the Impossible: contemporary violin music, aesthetics, technique and
performance”*. For this occasion, Dejana will be performing on the violin
by Thomas Meuwissen <https://www.thomasmeuwissen.com/>.
