Deadline Extended: 3D Product Design Residency V&A and Goethe-Institut for practitioners based in Germany – Call for Proposals
The V&A, in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut London, is inviting applications from 3D Product Designers who currently live and work in Germany and wish to develop their practice through working with the V&A’s collections and engaging in the public participatory programmes that the Museum runs.
The residency will be based in one of our residency studios in the Sackler Centre between 1 April and 30 September 2014. We are offering the residency as either a single six-month residency (April to September), or as two three-month residencies (April to June, or July to September) for two practitioners. The residency will provide a monthly bursary (taxable) and additional materials budget for any public activities. A team drawn from the Museum’s staff will provide support throughout the project.
We are interested in practitioners who: use digital design processes such as CAD, rapid prototyping, digital prototyping and 3D rendering; wish to work with the Museum’s resources and collections; would welcome the opportunity to actively work on projects with the public; and are interested in presenting and interpreting their work for visitors. Applicants should have a track record of innovation and regular exposure of new work, and be able to demonstrate ongoing development in their practice.
Applicants must be available for this project between 1 April and 30 September 2014

Interviews will be held in January 2014, date tbc.
