Single Channel: Collaborating with the Moving Image
A series of short film and video screenings, highlighting the work of
international "single-author" artists.

Microcinema International, and the Blaffer Gallery, the Art Museum of the
University of Houston, are pleased to present two weeks of short film
projections and screenings highlighting the work of artists who produce,
write, shoot, score and edit their own films, on view in the upstairs
galleries. Guest artists Julie-Christine Fortier from Rennes, France,
Christopher Keller and Serena Lin Bush from Houston will be present for the
Opening Reception, which will also feature a formal screening, lecture by
the curators, and music by DJ Grils Baloy. Weekend screenings will also be
held on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 2:00 pm.

The exhibition is curated by Microcinema International's Patrick Kwiatkowski
and Joel Bachar and will feature continuous screening loops in the upstairs
gallery for the entire duration of the series.
