Hi to everyone,
this is my first email to this mailing list, i'm sorry for being off topic - and for the bad english...

I'm a communication student in Bologna (IT) and i'm searching materials and informations about the Berlin social movements of the late 70s / beginning of the 80s.
My will is to compare the media production of those years in Italy - expecially in Bologna with the '77 students movement, the first free radio "Radio Alice", the first punk zines - with similar experiences in West Berlin, for example rewiews like "Tuwat" or "Die Besetzer" in Kreuzberg's house movement.

The proliferation of D.I.Y. media, linked with experimentations in language that send back to historical vanguards of the beginning of the century, and a new use of irony agains power (to say one, radio alice's "mao-dadaism") is a peculiar character of those years. See also the book "L'avanguardia inaudita", by Klemens Gruber, Costa&Nolan, 1997.

So if anyone can indicate me some similar experiences in Berlin - like free radios and newspapers and fanzine - please contact me.

Thanx!

giulio
--
////
