Artist/scientist David Burraston
<https://rwm.macba.cat/en/sonia/david-burraston/capsula> talks about his
rainwire project and how using rain as a creative medium has led him to an
ongoing research that could overcome some recognized shortcomings in the
field of rainfall measurements. He also talks about complex systems and
creative practice in science, with an overview of CA and its applications,
including his findings on CA rule space self-organization using modular
synthesizers and CA sequencers.

*2/SON[I]A#148. Mark Fisher
<https://rwm.macba.cat/en/sonia/sonia148_mark_fisher/capsula>*

Mark Fisher <https://rwm.macba.cat/en/sonia/sonia148_mark_fisher/capsula>
was a writer, teacher and theorist living in Suffolk, England. His k-punk
blog has been a well respected resource for cultural analysis on the web
since its launch in 2003. In 2009, he published his first book, 'Capitalist
Realism', where he explores the widespread sense that not only is
capitalism the only viable political and economic system, but also that it
is now impossible even to imagine a coherent alternative to it. In it,
Fisher analyses the role of the media, the education system, the link
between Neoliberalism and brain chemistry, and what he calls business
ontology 'in a world in which internment camps and franchise coffee bars
co-exist.'

*3/ ALTARS, SUGAR, AND ASHES #1. Anti-racism and anti-colonial resistance
from the perspective of people of African descent (only available in
Spanish)*
<https://rwm.macba.cat/en/specials/altars-sugar-and-ashes-1/capsula>

This miniseries
<https://rwm.macba.cat/en/specials/altars-sugar-and-ashes-1/capsula>
unfolds in three chapters, exploring ideas around anti-coloniality and
anti-racism from the perspective of people of African descent. In this
first instalment, researcher and curator Lucia Piedra Galarraga (b. Havana,
1972), teacher and researcher Karo Moret (b. Havana, 1974), and teacher and
researcher Diego Falconi (b. Quito, 1979) talk about scavenger
methodologies and the becoming-black of the world. They share stories about
altars, ekekos, nefandos, Saint Barbara, and Valdivia's Siamese twins. They
turn their attention to the politics of hair, talk about sugar as the star
product plying the Caribbean routes, and acknowledge the usefulness of
ashes in proving the extermination of the ancient Andean sodomite
communities.

*5/ SON[I]A#230. Lyra Pramuk*
<https://rwm.macba.cat/en/sonia/lyra-pramuk/capsula>

American composer and musician Lyra Pramuk talks about key moments in her
childhood and adolescence, which was marked by a rigorous religious and
musical education, and about her subsequent journey to deconstruct her
assigned identity, taking refuge in her love of science fiction and
role-playing games as basic strategies for reinventing herself. We also
chat about performativity, resisting the text, non-verbal music, live vs
studio work, the recording logic of the music industry, the importance of
queer community building, and clubbing in Berlin.
