artistic / research assistant (50%) with a focus on "Aesthetics and New
Technologies"


We are looking for an artist, computer scientist or designer who is able
to critically and creatively interact with code and the cultural
significance of software in society. Programming / code should be an
integral part of one's own artistic and design practice. Exemplary
workspaces are games / game modifications, hacktivism, generative
systems, virtual and augmented reality and creative technologies.
The position is linked to an exMedia laboratory, which is currently
under construction and will be independently developed by the applicant
together with two other artistic and scientific assistants.


Prerequisites are a a completed degree, qualified theoretical and
practical experience in the artistic and technical processing of the
above-mentioned subject fields, as well as a basic understanding of
algorithms, profound programming experience in at least one standard
programming language as well as experiences with the handling of open
source software and collaborative practices.


Tasks include the organization of lectures, the development
and joint operation of the exMedia laboratory, the participation in the
self-administration of the university and the organizational support of
the exMedia department. The applicant is expected to work integratively
and cooperatively with students and colleagues, pedagogical skills
aptitude as well as a good knowledge of English are expected.

The inclusion of the temporary employment contract according to
the Fixed-Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz;
WissZeitVG) requires the submission of an individual qualification
concept. Candidates are therefore asked to provide a detailed
description of the academic or artistic qualification they plan to
pursue during the course of their activities at the College of Media
Arts. The KHM offers the possibilityof pursuing a doctorate.

The place position is rated according to salary group 13 TV-L.
Employment is limited to six years with a view toward in the perspective
of the desired qualification.


The KHM strives to raise its female quota in research and teaching
