Dear Sir or Madam,

from December 3rd to 10th, 2011, the exhibition “been out, vol. 1” will take place in Dortmund, Germany.
The aim of this cultural event is to present and support young contemporary artists from Germany, the Netherlands and Great Britain. International artists and creative minds who are still at the beginning of their career are invited to submit their works for "been out, vol. 1".

The call is focused on artistic strategies dealing with public, urban space. We would therefore cordially request you to forward this Call for Projects via your network of artistic practices or mailing lists to students, interested artists and creatives. Further information on formalities and a reflection on the underlying theme of the call can be found in the attached files. Deadline for submissions is November 1st, 2011.

course of events.
Artists can mail text, image or video material belonging to their respective works to info at bohemeprecaire.com. The project descriptions will be put online by the organisation team at "kunst.labor", a channel of the culture portal 2010LAB.tv. An international expert judging panel consisting of renowned curators, scientists and culture managers selects five works which will be shown at "Ständige Vertretung", home of the creative network Heimatdesign (Dortmund), from December 3rd to 10th, 2011.

The five artists chosen by the judging panel for the exhibition at "Ständige Vertretung" will receive project costs up to € 900 per work plus travel costs from Germany, the Netherlands or Great Britain, accommodation and board for five days in Dortmund (4 overnight stays).

The exhibition lab “been out, vol. 1” is a project by Bohème Précaire in cooperation with the culture portal 2010LAB.tv, a project by the european centre for creative economy – ecce, founded in the frame of the European Capital of Culture RUHR.2010. The Call for Projects will be published in North Rhine-Westphalia, the Netherlands, Great Britain and selected other cities.

Project partners of the call, the online gallery and the exhibition in North Rhine-Westphalia are the Hartware MedienKunstVerein, 2010LAB.tv, Heimatdesign, Neue Kolonie West, the Dortmunder U – Centre for Art and Creativity and the Cultural Office of the City of Dortmund. Project partner in the Netherlands is Virtueel Platform, Amsterdam, in Great Britain the St. Martins College of the University of Arts in London. Media partner is PICNIC Amsterdam.
