RESOVISION BROADCASTING LIVE FROM FRIEZE ART FAIR

Lighthouse are excited to be a part of the launch of a new television 
channel, created by London broadcasters, ResonanceFM. The channel' 
"ResoVision" is being launched at Frieze Art Fair in London this 
October, and will be broadcasting live for the duration of the fair, 
14 to 17 October 2010. It will be streamed live online and it is 
hoped that highlights will be broadcast by the Community Channel on 
Freeview.

Resonance FM is the UK's largest independent arts broadcaster with a 
listenership of 1.6 million. ResoVision is their first foray into 
television.  

LIGHTHOUSE ON RESOVISION

Lighthouse will be working on-site at the Frieze Art Fair on the 
production of the live broadcast.  In addition, we are delighted to 
be presenting four specially curated programmes for ResoVision.  We 
are presenting two of Brighton's most innovative filmmakers, 
semiconductor and Ian Helliwell, and in collaboration with videoclub, 
we are broadcasting two programmes of artists' film experiments.

- Lighthouse on ResoVision: Beyond Surveillance
Date: Thursday 14 October
Time: 1900 - 2000
A programme of art works developed in response to and in 
counteraction against surveillance technologies, including David 
Valentine, Caspar Below, and The Bureau of Inverse Technology, which 
was originally shown at Lighthouse in 2010. Curated by Manu Luksch, 
and produced by videoclub.

The artist Manu Luksch, curator of the Beyond Surveillance 
programme,, the director of Lighthouse, and the curator of Tate 
Modern's recent exhibition on surveillance will be speaking at 
frieze, on ResoVision at 1330, Thursday 14 October.

- Lighthouse on ResoVision: VideoClub Selection
Date: Friday 15 October
Time: 1900 - 2000
A curated programme of artists video work featuring Jordan Baseman, 
Esther Johnson, Yin-Ju Chen and others, which was originally shown at 
Lighthouse in 2008. Produced by videoclub.

- Lighthouse on ResoVision: The Films of Ian Helliwell
Date: Saturday 16 October
Time: 1900 - 2000
A selection of Ian Helliwell's abstract, hand-painted films.
Duration:  60 minutes

 - Lighthouse on ResoVision: Worlds in Flux by semiconductor
Date: TBC, Time: TBC
Artists Ruth Jarman and Joe Gerhardt make stunning, cutting-edge 
digital films showing physical worlds in flux, cities in motion, 
shifting landscapes and systems in chaos.

ABOUT RESOVISION

 From conceptual telly to art-world quizzes, from radio-with-pictures 
to inter-species chat shows, ResoVision is a site for a vast array of 
new and archival audiovisual surprises - and a new take on testcards. 
It is hoped this pilot broadcast of ResoVision from Frieze may yield 
fruitful ideas about how a converged, and artistically augmented, 
televisual landscape might look like. It will be a radical new 
experiment in arts broadcasting.

It will feature renowned artists, Bob & Roberta Smith, Benedict Drew 
(joint winner, OCAD Off Screen Award), Bridget Nicholls (First 
International Zoo Art Fellow ZSL London Zoo), Yuri Pattison 
(co-founder, Off Modern) and Alex Ressel (co-founder, Auto Italia). 
Participating film-makers include Mike Figgis, Carl Stickley, Henry 
Scott-Irvine, Mark Aitken, William English, Galen Ayers, and many 
more.
