Computer Art Project Officer
£ 23701 - 33190 Per Annum Full-time
(36 hours per week)
The Victoria and Albert Museum and Birkbeck have been awarded a
major grant by the Arts and Humanities Research Council to enable
the two institutions to undertake research into the Museum’s Patric
Prince Collection of computer art.
You will be responsible for creating descriptive records for items
in the collection, as well as digitising selected material and
making the information available to other project staff at Birkbeck
and the V&A.
You will have a first degree or equivalent, a proven interest in
museum, library or archive documentation and a track record of
working in this field, together with experience of creating and/or
managing the creation of records for curatorial information systems
and related data standards. You will also have excellent
interpersonal skills and be computer literate, including a
familiarity with digital photography and related software.
The post is available for 27 months full-time equivalent, but could
also be undertaken on a part-time basis for up to 33 months.
