1. HMKV has been nominated for the ADKV-ART
COLOGNE Award for Art Associations (Kunstvereine)
2007

We feel very honoured to have been nominated for
the Award for Kunstvereine (Art Associations)
2007. The Award for Kunstvereine (Art
Associations) will be given for the second time
in 2007 as a cooperation between
Arbeitsgemeinschaft deutscher Kunstvereine (ADKV)
and Art Cologne. 20 people from the art and
culture field in Germany have each nominated a
Kunstverein. Around 250 German Kunstvereine are
organised in ADKV. The Prize is worth 10.000 Euro
and is awarded for the innovative work and
exhibition practice of a Kunstverein. The Award
will be given on 21 April 2007 at Art Cologne in
Cologne, Germany.

2. THE HARTWARE GUIDE TO IRATIONAL

Fresh from the printing press: the Hartware Guide
to the exhibition “The Wonderful World of
irational.org. Tools, Techniques and Events
1996-2006" which took place in late summer 2006
at PHOENIX Halle Dortmund has just been published!

Irational is a loose grouping of six
international net and media artists who came
together around the server irational.org, founded
by the British net artist Heath Bunting in 1996,
going on to make decisive contribution to early
net art from the mid-1990s onward. They include
Daniel Garcia Andújar / Technologies to the
People (E), Rachel Baker (GB), Kayle Brandon
(GB), Heath Bunting (GB), Minerva Cuevas / Mejor
Vida Corporation (MEX) and Marcus Valentine (GB).

irational formulates an art of movement through
space which is intended to expand the subject's
possibilities of action - in the sense of a
tactic of individual empowerment.

The Hartware Guide to irational documents the 54
works included in the exhibition “The Wonderful
World of irational.org" as well as the actions of
the irational action weekend.
