I am happy to announce to you the first-time ever public reading of the
text [A Stimulus To Make The Most Productive Use Of Radio] as written by
Kurt Schwitters in 1934. The reading wil be done simultaneously on two
broadcasting stations that can be heard all over the city of Berlin.
What makes this event even more special is that the strongest man in the
world, and his brother who is a well-known liliputian, will be reading
this text that deals with the strongest man in the world, and his
brother who is a well-known liliputian, who broadcast their voice over
the radio. The strongest man in the world, and his brother who is a
well-known liliputian, will interrupt the reading of the text at times
to (in this precise order):

boil water

make tea (sage tea)

open a small package

tear up some phonebooks (Berlin and surroundings)

smoke a cigar in the window (Gran Corona Primera, La Paz)

There are small sounds that sound big and big sounds that sound small.
Double broadcast = double action = good value for money. Go to
Alexanderplatz with two transistor radios or listen to half of the
programme (apologies here, but it could also be fun) on the audiostream
at www.radio-copernicus.org

This work is produced with the kind cooperation of Oliver Baurhenn,
thank you's to Olaf Matthes.

Sasker Scheerder, 'We make this known here with all due reservations'
An animated double reading of the essay 'A Stimulus To Make The Most
Productive Use of Radio', written in 1934 by Kurt Schwitters. In
collaboration with the Offener Kanal Berlin, the commissioned work will
emerge through the acoustic interplay of 'simultaneous broadcast' on two
frequencies: on Radio_Copernicus: UKW 95,2 and on OKB Radio: UKW 97,2.

Sasker Scheerder, media artist from Rotterdam, mostly works with sound
in time based configurations. His best known projects in the area of
strategic usage of Micro-FM in performance art are his so-called "Audio
Drives".

Radio_Copernicus is a radio station for German and Polish artists. Its
airwaves are open to any form of art which uses the medium of radio as a
basis for aesthetic and creative activity. The station was conceived as
an independent and transnational experiment to focus on artistic and
cultural innovations in electronic media and digital culture. The
German-Polish artist radio will be transmitting until the end of the
year on 95,2 MHz UKW and on the internet http://www.radio-copernicus.org.
