Perugi artecontemporanea - Padua
Alvise Bittente
de rebus domesticis, seu affectuum lascivissimae picturae
solo show curated by Guido Bartorelli
De rebus domesticis, seu affectuum lascivissimae picturae, or rather
"Of the domestic, or the pornography of feelings", is the new solo show
by Alvise Bittente at the gallery Perugi artecontemporanea.
The research of the Venetian artist constrains itself to the meagre
resources of pen drawing, with which he portrays the "small unimportant
things" which cross our gaze in our daily lives.
In a very topical way he somehow re-edits the penchant for the panorama
which marks the artistic glories of his home town. However, the drawing
is only the most evident element of his works, and another one sneaks
in: the breath of the conceptual which whispers from the titles, titles
which are dense with very witty mental associations. In this way the
banality of the objects portrayed is completely redeemed, caught in a
whirl of the fertile and philosophical folly of one who is able to see
the world upside down.
This time Bittente concentrates on the familiar environment of the
kitchen and the kitchen tools which accompany what have become ritual
actions, which we unexpectedly discover to be soaked with brazen sexual
meanings.

'Il Teatro dell'Arte' and 'Luna Park. Fantastic art'
Villa Manin hosts masterpieces from the Ludwig Museum Cologne. Through
a display which emphasises the dialogue with the architecture of the
villa, 'Il Teatro dell'Arte' reveals a complete and heterogeneous
panorama on the themes and approaches which have characterised our
recent times: from Francis Bacon to Gerhard Richter, from Yves Klein to
James Rosenquist, from Pablo Picasso to Bill Viola. 'Luna Park.
Fantastic art': in the historical park of Villa Manin, 12 international
artists present sculptures and installations which focus on the theme
of the game and involve the public through a pathway of discovery,
experience and amusement. Curated by Francesco Bonami and Sarah
Cosulich Canarutto.

U_MOVE: Utopia and Images on the Move
The show presents a varied selection of works on film, tape and digital
supports, through a rich projection schedule, including also thematic
events and seminars with some of the attending authors. The hypothesis
supported by U_MOVE is that the utopian drive constitutes a founding
theme of international videoart. Moreover, by presenting some previews
of foreign works, this exhibition establishes an ideal link between
linguistic research in the late 60s and investigations by the new
generation. Exhibition curated by: Andrea Bruciati, in collaboration
with Elena Volpato. Galleria Comunale d'Arte Contemporanea in
Monfalcone.
