A number of programs during DEAF03_DATA KNITTING will be streamed =0D
and opened to external online participants. We invite online participation =
=0D
via the LIVE area of the DEAF03 website. Here visitors can experience =0D
the festival by viewing live streams, listening to radio (programmed by =0D
Worm.station) and participating directly through IRC chat at events during =
=0D
the festival: Visitors will experience the presence of physical and online =
=0D
visitors through visual representation and live interaction.=0D
=0D
Twelve hours a day, images and impressions of activities, such as the =0D
"Information is Alive" symposium, the "Copy the Rights!" seminar, the =0D
"Media Academy Day" conference and the "Evenings of ..."=E2 will be =0D
streamed both as live recordings and "after show"=E2 reports. When more =0D
activities take place at the same time, different channels will appear on =
=0D
the site to allow viewers to watch more than one stream. During the =0D
following days, reruns of the live streams will be shown several times. =0D
Also, pictures of the exhibition in Pakhuis Las Palmas will appear =0D
regurlarly at the site. The online visitor will thus get a comprehensive =
=0D
impression and overview into DEAF03's atmosphere and activities!=0D

During DEAF03=E2, on two occasions, two people - one artist and one=0D
scientist - will be locked up together for 24 hours in a dedicated space=0D
called Habituation Cage=E2, situated on the rooftop of the exhibition=0D
building. Here they will enter into a dialogue with each other and discuss=
=0D
all kinds of subjects that are related to the festival=E2s theme, such as=
=0D
=CEthe body as a collection of data=E2. These discussions will be streamed =
=0D
via the Internet and can also be watched on a projection screen in the=0D
exhibition lounge. Visitors may listen to the discussions and contact the=
=0D
participants via the Internet to contribute to the debate: =0D

of an installation at the entrance of Las Palmas, the exhibition-space. =0D
The installation H.I.D.E.=E2 is handled in part by Automat. Visitors to the=
=0D
installation are photographed and their transformed visual =0D
representations=0D
are then integrated into the website.=0D

Upon entering the exhibition visitors can scan and describe a personal=0D
object they carry with them. Both the object and the description are added=

establish unexpected associations between descriptions and objects in =0D
the database.=0D
