Netart from Latin American countries, Spain and Portugal

the last show
in the framework of  - 2nd of Java series 2002/2003.

The features of JavaMuseum's "2nd of Java series" are spotlighting netart
from different cultural regions.
Much more than any other art expression is net based art playing global.

LatinoNetarte.net would like to surprise the visitor by
presenting some exciting and talented New Media artists
from a cultural region which is in the headlines rather due to political,
economical or
social conflicts.
It is this environment and cultural background, and  the connected different
view on the things which produces strong and vivid aspects in contemporary
art,  in general, and recently in net based art, in particular:
passionate and engaged and very sensitive for poetic structures.
The number of artists working with New Media is continuously increasing.
Their relevance manifests itself also in a variety of artistic initiatives,
actions and events in nearly all respective countries, particularly in
Spain, but also Brazil, Mexico, Argentina. Events as - File - Electronic
Language Festival or Videobrasil, both located in Sao Paulo/Brazil, belong
meanwhile to the most prominent festival events of their genre.

As an ongoing project, the show is based on an open call in Internet.
It will accept also in future at any
time submissions of new artists which are not yet presented in the
exhibition, in order to stay always most updated.
