'JavaArtist of the Year Award'
is given once a year to outstanding artists
working with Internet related technologies.

The 2002 winners will be extracted from the artists
who are participating in the 2002 competition.
(2001 winners were Mary-Anne Breeze (Mez), Jody Zellen and Tiia Johannson

1. Call for Artists for
'2nd of Java - Fundamental Patterns - Peripheral Basics'
What are the fundamental patterns of contemporary living and art,
what kind of peripheral basics are defining them?
What are the fundamental patterns of the virtual
environment of Internet? Mere simulation?
Or rather something profoundly new?
In which way changed patterns and the peripheral
basics from physical to virtual level?
How do they influence sensual and intellectual perception ?
Since there is much space for any interpretation,
the categories set up for this competitions are intentional
vague and flexible, any possible approach is welcome!

The categories are:
ImageBasix,
works in which the image component is dominating
ScriptBasix,
works in which the script component is dominating
SoundBasix,
works in which the sound component is dominating.
