Yugoslavia

Real Presence, Generation 2001 is a first huge international multimedia
workshop and meeting of young artists and students from East and West
European Art Academies after ten years of war, political crisis and
cultural isolation of Yugoslavia.
Now in time of transition it is necessary to bridge the gaps and
re-establish contacts and cultural dialogue between Yugoslavia and other
countries therefore Real Presence involves emerging generations of
artists coming from different cultural backgrounds and working in
different media.=20
More than 300 young artists coming from Art Academies of 16 countries
(Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Holland,
Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland,
Yugoslavia) are taking part in permanent workshop presenting
performances, actions, lectures, web projects, video and on site
installations, painting and sculpture, in order to affirm the actual
possibility to move freely and openly within different disciplines,
media and expressive languages, and to articulate new, fresh and real
positions, attitudes, concepts and reflections on global and individual
life and reality.=20
International multimedia workshop Real Presence will be opened on 27th
of August with conference of Harald Szeemann, artistic director of
Venice Biennale. After duration of two weeks, filled with intense
program of events, presentations, conferences and performances the
manifestation will be closed on 8th of September with exhibitions of
participants in: Museum "25. May" (ex-Tito's Museum), Salon of Museum of
Contemporary Art, Gallery of Students Cultural Center, Gallery "Zvono"
