und digitaler Technologien*

Ein Symposium von IMA Institut für Medienarchäologie in Kooperation mit
der FH St. Pölten

In der elektronischen / digitalen Kunst und in deren Aufführungen ist
die Produktion von Klang und Bild üblicherweise unsichtbar und ihrer
Körperlichkeit entbunden. Für das Publikum ist das resultierende
Ergebnis oft unverständlich. Gleichzeitig sehen wir uns in dieser
Kunstgattung mit vielen unterschiedlichen Produktions- und
Präsentationsweisen konfrontiert, von Hardware hacking bis live Coding,
von live Performance bis Installation.

Dieses Projekt versucht einen Blick unter die Oberflächen zu werfen. Die 
eingeladenen KünstlerInnen, TechnikerInnen und TheoretikerInnen sind 
aufgefordert ihre Methoden vorzustellen und mit den TeilnehmerInnen in 
einen Diskurs zu treten.

Digital Technologies*

A symposium by the IMA Institute of Media Archeology in cooperation with
the FH St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences

Free entrance, no registration necessery!

In electronic/digital art and its performances the production of sound
and image is usually invisible and freed from its physicality. For the
audience the result is often incomprehensible. At the same time we are
confronted with many different production and presentation methods in
this genre of art: from hardware hacking to live coding, from live
performance to installation.

This project attempts to take a look beneath the surfaces. The invited
artists, technicians, and theorists have been asked to present their
methods and to engage in a discourse with the participants.
