Wir suchen interdisziplinär arbeitende Kulturproduzentinnen aus dem 
In- und Ausland mit Affinität zu Medien die künstlerisch und / oder 
theoretisch eine thematische oder mediale Arbeit in Berlin im April 
oder Mai 2012 realisieren wollen. Das von uns zur Orientierung 
vorgeschlagene Thema ist:

"Das Grosse Ereignis"

Die Stadt Kassel -- manche sagen "nahe Frankfurt" -- ist als Ort der 
weltgroessten Kunstausstellung bekannt. Alle fünf Jahre kommt ein 
"Zirkus" in die Stadt, vertreibt das Alltagsleben und weckt ein 
Dornröschen. Kassel ist bekannt für die Märchen der Gebrüder Grimm 
aber auch für Rüstungsindustrie. Tatsächlich ist die Documenta das 
Ergebnis der Depression des Kalten Krieges in dieser Region mit in 
sich sehr widersprüchlichen Auswirkungen auf die Bewohner.

Besonders interessiert sind wir an prozessualen Ansätzen. Der 
thematische oder mediale Kontext und der genaue Ort im Stadtgebiet 
bleiben freigestellt. Unser Vorschlag dient zur Orientierung und muss 
nicht unbedingt eingehalten werden. Über die Annahme der Vorschläge 
entscheiden Mindaugas Gapsevicius, Martin Wrede, Karsten Asshauer und 
Dr. Matze Schmidt.

Wir bieten einen öffentlich zugänglichen Aktions- oder Ausstellungsraum 
für 7 Tage für Präsentationen, Vorträge, Performances etc. im Rahmen 
des Projekts "POT" des Vereins und einen 1stündigen Radiosendeslot auf 
einer Frequenz im Stadtgebiet inkl. Stream. Außerdem Unterkunft in 
einer Wohnung und logistische und wissenschaftliche Unterstützung, 
sowie in Absprache Geräte und Mobilität. Wenn das Budget es erlaubt, 
unterstützen wir auch eine Print- oder Onlinepublikation. Ein Flyer 
ist inbegriffen. Die Arbeit wird dokumentiert.Wir bieten an, Teile des 
Vorhabens später in Berlin zu präsentieren.

Die Vergütung von 600,00 EURO geht direkt an den top e.V. und deckt 
Kosten des Projekts. Die Finanzierung der Reisekosten und 
Lebenshaltung (außer Unterkunft) sowie der Materialen muss vom 
Bewerber / der Bewerberin erbracht werden. Wir verschicken nach dem 
Entscheid eine offizielle Einladung und helfen gerne bei der Akquise 
von Fördermitteln und bei Einreiseformalitäten.

Lebenslauf oder eine Liste der Produktionen, Publikationen, 
Auszeichnungen oder Ausstellungen erwarten wir nicht. Wir legen 
jedoch Wert auf einen inhaltlich stringent ausgearbeiteten 
Projektentwurf, der beschreibt und zeigt, welche ästhetische und 
soziale Diskussion angestrebt wird, wie die Umsetzung aussehen kann, 
welcher lokale Bezug gewählt wird und welche Mittel oder Umgebungen 
verwendet werden. Es gibt keine Altersbeschränkung.

Wir versenden eine Eingangbestätigung per E-Mail und entscheiden 
innerhalb von wenigen Tagen nach dem Einsendeschluss.

Der gemeinnützige top e.V. arbeitet seit 2002 im Bereich der

Dates: Between 01/06 and 30/06/2012 or 01/07 and 31/07/2012 (upon 
agreement)

We are looking for Cultural Producers with an interdisciplinary 
approach and affinity to Media from different countries who want to 
realise artistically and / or theoretically a thematic or media work 
in Kassel in June or July 2012. Our proposal for a Topic is:

"The Big Event"

The city of Kassel in Germany — some say "near Frankfurt" — is known 
as the place for the "world’s largest art exhibition". Every five 
years a "circus" comes to town and expulses the normal day life and 
wakes a Sleeping Beauty. Thus Kassel is known for the fairytales of 
the Brothers Grimm as well as for armament industries. In fact the 
exhibition Documenta is an outcome of the cold war depression in this 
region and is internally quite inconsistent, since there are some 
effects to the population.

Our interest focuses especially on processual works. The themed or 
media context is facultative. Our proposed topic is only for 
orientation. Mindaugas Gapsevicius, Martin Wrede, Karsten Asshauer 
and Dr. Matze Schmidt will decide about the applications.

We provide a public Action or Exhibition Space for 7 days for 
presentations, lectures, performances etc. within the framework of 
the "POT" project of the association and a 1-Hour-Radioslot on a 
Kassel frequency incl. Stream. Furthermore accommodation in a flat 
and logistical and scientific support plus agreement devices and 
mobility upon agreement. If the budget allows the costs we support 
a print- or online publication as well. A flyer is included. The 
work will be documented. We offer to show parts of the project later 
in Berlin.

The fee goes directly to the top e.V. and covers project costs. The 
financing of travel and living (except lodging) and all materials 
must be covered by the applicant. We issue an official invitation 
letter after the decision and help with grant seeking and immigration 
formalities.

It is required that you note in your e-mail which month you prefer: 
June OR July. All hyperlinks to e.g. further audio material or texts 
have to be inserted in the PDF-document. We don't expect a CV or a 
list of productions, publications, awards or exhibitions. However we 
set great value upon a stringent developed content-wise project draft 
that depicts which aesthetic and social discussion are intended and 
how the realisation may look like, which local references will be 
chosen and how the means and environments look like. There is no 
maximum age limit.

We send a notice of receipt of your application and decide within a 
few days after the deadline.

The nonprofit association top e.V. operates since 2002 in the field of

will be in Berlin again from October on.
