Call: Sound Art Competion

In commemoration of the 70 th anniversary of the

historical tragedy of >Reichskristallnacht< on November

9, 1938, the Collegium Hungaricum Berlin (CHB), the

Hungarian Institute of Culture, announces an international

Sound Art competition. Artistic proposals are requested

which reflect upon this particular historical event as well

as upon the architecture of the CHB building. Both the

indoor and the outdoor spaces of the institute offer room

for site-specific audio-visual installations, enabling them

to become part of the open space of the city.

The exhibition will open on the 70th anniversary of the

>Kristallnacht<, on November 9, 2008 and will run until

December 9, 2008. Further to the exhibition, the CHB

intends to host a one-day symposium on Sound Art.

An expert jury will review all entries and select one single

proposal. The winning proposal will be provided with a

budget of 5.000 EUR for the realisation of the project. The

artist will also receivea personal award of1.000 EUR.
