Sparwasser HQ
presents:
TEMPORARY SERVICES "BINDER ARCHIVE" will travel
to the corner of Brunnenstrasse and Invalidenstrasse
from 16:00 to 18:00 THIS THURSDAY!
Temporary Services’ Binder Archive is heading to the streets!
Part of the Public Services show now at Sparwasser HQ, the
Binder Archive is a self-contained portable exhibition itself.
On Thursday the Peter Redgrave (artist having his Foldings collection
in binders) is taking the Temporary Services Binder Archive out for a
walk!
Temporary Services curated a broad range of binders for this show -
from presentations of various artists’ drawings, fliers and photos to
collections of objects, or just
about anything that can be punched with three holes. Each binder is a
self-contained project or archive of a person's or group's work.
Viewers
can freely handle the binders just as they might browse through books
in a
reference library.
With Binder Archives, Temporary Services has developed a strategy for
bringing large and complete projects to different audiences in an
active
manner. The binders are housed in a case that can be carried, pushed on
wheels or shipped. This means finding new spaces that are available
inexpensively or for free, using other institutions on a short-term
basis,
using the homes of friends in other cities, using publicly trafficked
space in new ways and finding affordable ways to present exhibitions
internationally.
