The visual equivalent of remixing is morphing. Here's an example, which is
presented not as a work of art but as an illustration of a researcher's
theory that Leonardo used himself as a model for his "portrait" of La
Giocando:

Morphing uses much the same technique spatially as remixing uses
temporally. (For tech background, see Peter's post.)

This example is offered in the spirit of appreciation of the artistic
possibilties of new media techniques.
